Scottish DEA
Scottish Drug Enforcement Agency

Recruitment

ABOUT US

The Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency (SCDEA) is at the forefront of fighting serious organised crime.

Our aim is to detect and dismantle organised crime networks in or impacting on Scotland, particularly those involved in the illegal drugs trade, money laundering, fraud, firearms and human trafficking.

Working in partnership with Scotland's eight police forces, other law enforcement agencies, and organisations in the public and private sectors, we develop intelligence-led operations and innovative techniques to target the criminals who inflict harm on Scotland's communities.

WORKING WITH US

You will be part of a highly motivated team of people, who are committed to the fight against organised crime.

We understand the challenges of modern-day lifestyles and the importance of achieving a good work-life balance.  We have many career opportunities to suit those staff who require flexible working conditions and are happy to discuss individual requirements.  We also recognise the importance of supporting our staff, both in and out of the workplace, and have professional services in place to provide our staff with support on a range of personal and job-related matters.  This includes 24-hour access to an employee assistance programme and provision of occupational health services.

We are committed to equality of opportunity as an employer of opportunity and recognise the importance of a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve.

The SCDEA is wholly committed to equality of opportunity.  Applications are welcome from officers/staff within all sections of the community.  Selection will be based on merit.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

The majority of our workforce is made up of serving police officers, who are recruited from Scotland's eight forces.  All applications for SCDEA police posts must be submitted to, and be supported by, an officer's home force prior to being considered by the Agency.  Applications for secondment can only be accepted from police officers currently serving with a Scottish Police Force.  Application forms are linked to all adverts and are also available from individual force Office System Centres.

We also need skilled and experienced support staff to help deliver our objective of protecting Scotland's communities.  The changing nature of serious organised crime means we increasingly need to diversify our skills base and require people with expert and specialist knowledge to respond to the threat from organised crime; this includes covert officers, e-crime specialists, financial investigators, analysts, administrators and technical support operators.

We need people who are professional, reliable and dedicated.  In return, the SCDEA will offer you a challenging and highly rewarding career, with an attractive package and opportunities at several locations across Scotland.

Details of vacancies and their location, plus information on how to obtain application packs, are available via the links below.
