SCOTTISH CRIME AND DRUG
ENFORCEMENT AGENCY

SUPPORT TO PUBLIC SECTOR BODIES

One of the key objectives of ‘Letting Our Communities Flourish’, the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce strategy for tackling serious organised crime in Scotland, is to deter serious organised crime by implementing measures to protect communities, businesses and the public sector.

The SCDEA continue to work towards achieving that objective and this guidance is one of a number of different approaches we are taking to reduce the risk posed by such criminals.

We recognise that the threat, risk and harm from Serious Organised Crime affects many aspects of life in Scotland and that the economic impact of this criminality is felt across the public, private or voluntary sectors.

To provide support to Public Authorities this guidance has been compiled by drawing on the contribution of individuals within law enforcement and the expertise of others in specialised fields. It provides best practice advice and is a live product which will be added to as new interventions and opportunities to reduce risk and vulnerability arise.

The collection of awareness inputs below are entitled ‘Letting our Public Authorities Flourish’ and are designed to support the SOC Taskforce strategy.
