The SCDEA has received a number of enquiries recently from people who have received emails allegedly originating from the Agency.  A copy of such a letter is attached.

Please note that the SCDEA does not send emails to anyone requesting that their personal details be forwarded to them. 

Such emails are 'Phishing' emails and are used by scammers to obtain personal details for their own ends.  The emails may originate from, e.g. Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail or similar IP addresses. 

The SCDEA, along with other UK police forces, use web and email addresses that end .pnn.police.uk (NOTE - not pnm.police.uk as in the attached letter).

You should not respond to these emails, nor send any personal details.  Under no circumstances should you forward any money
