OPERATION ACUMEN SENTENCING

Three Aberdeen men were sentenced today at the High Court in Glasgow after pleading guilty to their involvement in supplying Class A drugs as a result of an SCDEA operation codenamed ACUMEN. This three man network trafficked in excess of £100,000 worth of heroin and as part of the investigation over £20,000 of cash was also seized.

James Thomas Brown, 30, was jailed for 5 years 10 months after pleading guilty to the supply of heroin.

Alan Andrew Groves, 29, was jailed for 4 years 5 months after pleading guilty to the supply of heroin.

Steven Thomas Groves, 27, was jailed for 4 years 2 months, also for the supply of heroin.

Detective Chief Superintendent Gavin Robertson, Crime Co-ordinator at the SCDEA said, " The SCDEA remains committed to combating and dismantling serious organised crime in all its forms.  We welcome this verdict and the clear message it sends - drug trafficking will not be tolerated; those involved will be brought to justice and punished.  I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank all those involved in this professional investigation for their committment and dedication.
