SCOTTISH CRIME AND DRUG
ENFORCEMENT AGENCY

OPERATION INTREPID SENTENCING
21 November 2007

Derek Morrison (35) was jailed for 7 years 6 months, David Burke ( 31) for 4 years, Nickolas Guit (32) for 16 months and Claire Feely (32) for 14 months at the High Court in Edinburgh.  The four, all from Glasgow, have admitted to being concerned in the supply of cocaine. During the operation, codenamed Operation Intrepid, officers from the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency (SCDEA) seized more than 16 kg of cocaine, with a street value of more than £800,000.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan Cunningham of the SCDEA said:

“The SCDEA promises to tackle cocaine suppliers and their networks to protect the people of Scotland from this insidious trade. Recently dealers have been targeting more affluent areas of Scotland; we will dismantle these networks no matter where they set up in business.

“Those who use cocaine need to think about how this drug is delivered to the streets of Scotland. If people are ethically and morally aware of the impact of their lifestyle choices, they will never take cocaine.”

Earlier this year the SCDEA launched an ethical cocaine campaign at T in the Park. It highlighted how children are mercilessly exploited and thousands of people murdered in the horrendous violence connected with the production of cocaine.
